The Midwest Wins!

Questions and Suggestions   West Coast Wins   East Coast Wins   Northwest Wins   The Deep South Wins   Hawaii Wins   Little Northern Things   Southwest States   Our Personal Blogs

When one thinks of the Midwest, they would often think of grain silos, barbeque, and cows. Lots of cows. But there is SO much more to the region. It covers twelve states, and all of them have their own unique culture and things to offer.

The Midwest is home to the Rust Belt, the Corn Belt, the Bible Belt, and Tornado Alley. Each season is a new extreme, reaching 100-degree temps in the summer and sub-zero temps in the winter. The Midwest is home to the Great Plains, the Great Lakes, the Ozarks, the Mississippi and the Missouri Rivers, and the nation's third-largest city, Chicago.

DISCLAIMER (by Caleb): I do live in the Midwest at the moment, but starting in September, I'll be living in Seattle. I'll have to use this blog as a way to relive my greatest Midwestern memories.

ANOTHER DISCLAIMER: The Midwest is certainly not any better than the other regions of the US. And this blog isn't meant to make competition.

Currently, there are two of us (Caleb and Ruth Ann) running this blog.

Does anyone want to run this blog?

Hi from Caleb in Seattle. It’s been months since anyone’s posted. Would someone like to be part of this former glory? All interested, please tell me via askbox.

I apologize for the continued absence of posts. My work hours have recently really picked up and I’m now getting anywhere between 20-30 hours a week, which is something I’m JUST NOW GETTING USED TO! (I’m a failure as an adult.)

It’ll get going, I promise. :) Beyond me/Caleb’s general busy-ness, we could definitely use some suggestions, so send then our way!

I have had a love-hate relationship with this heat wave. I mean, it’s nice that it’s not sub-zero temps like it is in the winter, but it still sucks.
I think the highest temperature I read last week was 107.
(Also, this is Caleb. I’ll stop in from time to time to upload stuff like this.)

Well hey everybody.

Hey there. I am one of Caleb (this blog’s creator, if you don’t know)’s real-life friends and I’m kindofsortof taking over TMW. I was born in the Philippines and lived there until I was about 3. Other than that, I lived in Missouri for 15 years and have lived in Nebraska for 2.

We received one other message from someone willing to help take over this blog, and I will probably hit them up soonish. My schedule is semi-open right now, but once I start classes again in the fall, I will be busier, so having three people on this would definitely help. :) Caleb will probably also stick around some, too.

If you would like to follow my personal blog, go here

I would start working on some posts tonight, but I’m pretty damn tired and will probably sleep soon. Tomorrow, hopefully! I’m planning on doing some personally relevant ones to start as the submission box isn’t overflowing right now.

Welp, this summer has certainly become surprisingly busy…

I’m thinking about either stopping the blog altogether or letting someone else take over. If you want to start running this blog, please message me via ask box. I’ll explain to you everything that you’ll need once I decide who gets it. :)

Suggestions, please!!!

I finally got a job, so I’m not going to be busy driving around the tri-state area looking for a new one. Therefore, you guys should send me some suggestions so I can waste my time making new Midwest Wins while I’m not wasting time watching Grey’s Anatomy.
